Queensryche one or two? None please!
Personally, as a long time fan, I am tired of the internet war the 2 bands have put fans in.
On one side, there is Geoff Tate and his new Queensryche. This band consists of:
Rudy Sarzo, Bobby Blotzer, Glen Drover, Kelly Gray and Randy Gane, with Geoff singing of course.
Then there is the other Queensryche, which consists of:
Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, Parker Lundgren and Todd La Torre....who is the singer for Crimson Glory.
Why does there have to be 2 Queensryches? Really? What's the point? The name has been marred by both sets for all their own arrogant reasons.
One side says they don't care what the other does. That's fine, but what about your fans? Don't you care about us?
Face it guys, the band name Queensryche is DEAD--history--gone.
To Michael, Scott and Eddie: What was wrong with the band name Rising West? It was cool and was a HUGE chance for you guys to make a go of things. Break free and do music that you like. Nah, you'd rather play old Ryche songs. *rolls eyes*
To Geoff: You had a successful run as the GT Solo Band the first time around. What was wrong with that name again? It was the individual and not the name Queensryche that made your first solo CD successful.
Now I will put you 4 together: Geoff, Michael, Eddie and Scott--the only remaining members of a once great band--Queensryche. Please, drop the silliness for the band name. Your fans know your names and faces and I'll bet most know how to find you in the music business. Bury the name Queensryche because it takes the 4 of you together to use it successfully.
I'm sad that it has come to this....Queensryche was a favorite touring band of mine. I enjoyed my trips to Chicago, Nashville and St. Louis for your concerts.
It's been a fun ride.

Now for my Queensryche rant.
WHY do so called fans of Queensryche find it necessary to go and post on a FB page about how rotten they feel Geoff Tate is? Is it necessary?
Before all this blew up, I hope those fans remember, Geoff was THE MAN to them. He sounded great and did a FANTASTIC job on stage. Now they would rather call him names and tell him he is controlling and oh yeah, Geoff doesn't sing 'that type of music' *metal* anymore.
How are these so called fans aware of all this? Did they recently talk with Geoff about everything? I just don't get it.
I don't like a lot of bands/singers and I honestly do not find it necessary to find where their fans are and say "You guys suck" and leave. For one thing, it's tacky and lacks class. What point does that prove? Once again it makes no sense.
Here is Geoff's page:

Of course, this page is for fans of Geoff and his music. Please be nice.

Geoff Tate talks to Rolling Stone magazine
Things just keep on moving with Queensryche VS Geoff Tate.
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/exclusive-q-a-geoff-tate-on-queensryches-ugly-split-backstage-brawl-in-brazil-20120626
I personally hope the name calling from fans comes to an end and they let the band settle this in peace. Yeah, like that will happen.

Huge announcement from Geoff Tate today!
GEOFF TATE, the legendary Queensryche
frontman and one of the most acclaimed vocalists in the history of hard
rock and heavy metal, has signed a worldwide recording contract with
INSIDEOUT MUSIC.
"I'm very excited to join forces with InsideOut Music," says Geoff Tate (Official) of his multi-album deal. "They are very committed to progressive music and care deeply for their artists, working together with them to bring music lovers worldwide some of the most compelling rock music available."
As the frontman of Queensryche, GEOFF TATE has sold more than 20 million records and received four Grammy nominations. The band's landmark concept album 'Operation: Mindcrime' thrust their unique social consciousness, expertly crafted lyrics and progressive style into the national spotlight in 1988, and was followed by 'Empire' in 1990, the album that delivered the band to arena-headlining status and sold more than three million albums on the back of hit singles "Silent Lucidity" and "Jet City Woman." By the time Queensryche released 'Promised Land' in 1994, Tate was universally acknowledged as one of the greatest frontmen in rock and metal, and a driving force behind progressive metal's most innovative force in mainstream music. Queensryche have released 12 studio albums, with one of their most overlooked gems being 'American Soldier' in 2009, Tate's ambitious concept album that explores the consequences of war as told through the voices of veterans.
"Obviously, we at the label have been fans of Geoff for a long time," says InsideOut Music founder Thomas Waber. "We are looking forward to working with such a renowned musician - welcome to the InsideOut Music family!"
GEOFF TATE is currently finishing production on his first InsideOut Music release. The album is planned for release this fall, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tate joins an InsideOut Music roster that includes Devin Townsend, Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, King's X, Fates Warning, Dream Theater frontman James Labrie, The Flower Kings, Arjen Anthony Lucassen, Pain Of Salvation and more.

I am thrilled beyond words! So glad something good came of this big mess.
Good luck Geoff and congratulations!

Last photo for the night
Another photo from the phone because I had to take my camera to the car. New rule from that venue.
:-(
I have taken a couple hundred pix of QR over the past few years. Maybe I will make a QR page of my photos on the blog.

St. Louis concert--2011
I took this photo from the front row last year.
From now on, photos with GT and the band will be known as 'old school' Ryche.
It is blurry because my camera on my phone sucks and the lighting was really bad. However, I have my name on it just in case. :-)
**just saw that this was the entire band and had to fix the labels**
Are you ready for the new Queensryche?
Here they are with their new singer, Todd La Torre.
Personally, I think they should've left their name Rising West. Using the name Queensryche isn't right because Geoff Tate was the lead singer for 30 years.
*gee, if Geoff was that powerful, what took Michael, Eddie and Scott so long to get rid of him?*
Still not going to see this band because it is the principal of the matter. Had they kept the Rising West name, I would've thought about it because I do like Michael, Eddie, Scott and Parker. All very nice guys. However, I have to ask....
Who has the ego now?

June 20, 2012, Geoff Tate fired from Queensryche...What the?
I'm going to miss Geoff singing in Queensyche. I truly am.
For the life of me, I cannot grasp what has happened to these guys, but it is not something for fans to figure out or grasp. It's something that the 5 of them know and maybe one day, the fans will hear what happened. At that point, it won't even matter anymore because both parties will have moved on.
Honestly though, I cannot go to a Queensryche concert anymore. I do not want to see another singer up there singing songs from the old QR. I realize it has been done time and time again by other bands and for those fans who go just to hear the hits and don't care who is singing, I guess it is fine. I am not one of those fans though.
A couple of my favorite songs:
The Lady Wore Black
Take Hold of the Flame
And the last one, a favorite from Operation: MindCrime *I* think Geoff owns this song.
Eyes of a Stranger
I'm still in shock over this. However, what's done is done. It's time for a new chapter.
This is a photo I took on GT's acoustic tour in Chicago at Mayne Stage. I do plan on returning to his solo concerts.
